Trend Fix: Spring/Summer 2013

This year’s spring and summer looks range in texture and style that fits everyones taste.  Here’s OURFIXATIONS top 7 favorite trends from thespring runways.  LEATHER

Leather (faux preferred) was seen all over the spring runways at Chanel, Mulberry and Jason Wu. The fabric was designed in light and feminine styles that screams a bad girl look. Try this trend with faux leather leggings, girly leather peplum shirts or leather pencil skirts.  More below: 

STRIPES

Check out this season’s classic statement piece. Tommy Hilfiger, Michael Kors, Marc Jacobs had their runways filled with an emphasis on strong black-and-white looks.  Easily wearable in every season, this is a perfect trend for ladies on a budget.  Its also flexible to wear to work or out on a night in the town. Pieces can include classics like blazers or skirts and more risky with skinny jeans or pumps.

 LACE

The definition of a classic trend, lace can be used to accent or full out dominate your outfit.  Lace adds a royal and luxurious feel that makes every woman feel elegant.  Like Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, and Valentino sported in their Spring runways be creative when you incorporate this style.  Found some great pieces including fun lace booties, peekaboo lace jeans and a casual sweat shirt.

 CROP TOPS & PEEKABOO

Racy cutouts, midriff-showing tops, window cuts and sheer fabrics were all over the runway. Peekaboo is a perfect option for every body type.  Whether you are going for an all out sexy look or for a more subtle cute this trend meets your level of modesty.  BCBG, Cushnie et Ochs, Diane von Furstenberg had this trend down incorporating blazers and structured dresses.

BRIGHT COLORS

This spring, shine bright in yummy tangerines, radiant reds, mesmerizing greens and sunny yellow colors.  These hues dominated the runways at Michael Kors, Lanvin and Burberry Prorsum. Make a splash in your wardrobe by adding pieces like statement blazers, neon skinny jeans and bright platforms.

 PRINTS

Seen amongst  Marimekko, Monique Lhuillier and Vivienne Tam this trend takes on a more interesting and exciting tone.  The print trend adds an artsy and bold angle with patterns, including florals and geometric touches and flashy prints.  Found some amazing pieces with lines known for the wild prints like Roberto Cavalli, Christopher Kane and other budget friendly finds!

RUFFLES

Flirty ruffles were everywhere in the spring runways of Balenciaga, Ralph Lauren and Gucci. Add a little flair and a feminine touch with ruffled items below.  From ruffled coats, fluttery booties, sheer blouses or a sexy minidress.
